Located in an old colonial home, in the beautiful Southern Highlands of New South Wales, the campus sits in a 28-acre property on the Bowral to Moss Vale Road, overlooking the Wingecarribee River.

Bible School Programme

The year programme is divided into two separate 19-week schools. Each school is divided in two terms, one of 9 weeks, the other of 10 weeks. There are 20 lectures each week, which includes 10 lectures as a complete unit on one subject. The other weekly lectures comprise of subjects which continue throughout the term. They are conducted by the resident faculty and several guest speakers. These guest speakers are either members of the International Torchbearer Staff, or other experienced Christian leaders in residence for one week.

The regular programme is either a 21-week (includes two-week mid-term break) or 43-week (includes 5 weeks for term breaks) Certificate course (commencing January and July).

The courses are open to Christians who are willing to discover through disciplined study more of the Biblical principles of Christian living. People of all ages above 18 are eligible to apply. No academic prerequisites are expected, but it is desired that students enrol with a local church recommendation.

Certificate III in Christian Ministry (30267 QLD). This is an accredited course and in most instances will take 43 weeks to complete at Capernwray Torchbearers Australia. Students who satisfy the requirements after 1 semester (21 weeks) will receive a ‘Statement of Attainment in partial completion of Certificate III in Christian Ministry’. Capernwray Torchbearers Australia is a Registered Training Organisation and the course is Austudy approved.

The study includes assignments, written papers and presentations. The programme is designed to develop a disciplined study of the Bible. All students are required to participate in a local church and some form of ministry outreach to the surrounding community. Students are expected to work in specific duties to help maintain the domestic functions of the school.

Accommodation

The school accommodates about 60 students. Bedrooms are designed to take two or three per room with shared facilities. There is limited accommodation for married couples and families.
