Email and Internet facilities at Capernwray Hall

Information provided here is subject to revision. It can be used as a guide only.

Internet Access

We have Apple Macintosh computers (12 at January 2005) that you can use to access the Internet. The internet access is being made available free of charge. At certain times the service may be over-subscribed, so please don't expect to use it every day. We will of course seek to provide the best service we can, given the available facilities.

Email facilities are based on your own webmail account.

You can use digital-camera cards, and USB flash drives, to copy data to and from the computers; some have CD writers so you can store your digital photo collection.

Planning on bringing your own laptop?

You are welcome to bring your own laptop to the School; many people find it useful for taking notes and writing up reviews and so on. You will be able to access the internet with your laptop at limited times.

Power Supply
The UK mains electricity is 240volt 50hz, which you should find that your laptop's power supply can handle. Sometimes a physical adapter is needed, but if the power supply already has an IEC three-pin connector (like the power input socket on a desktop PC) then we have the cables to fit.
