From the four corners they came and what a joy it was. The Torchbearer centres around the world were all well-represented at our International Staff Conference which takes place every four years here at Capernwray Hall. In fact, including children and Capernwray staff, the kitchen prepared meals for 350! It really was a wonderful family reunion.

We sang, we listened, we talked (a lot), we laughed, we cried, we ate (well), we reminisced, we prayed; all wrapped up in that wonderful word ‘fellowship’. The Word was opened and the Lord Jesus had His rightful place in our midst. We praised Him for all that he had done over the years, we were encouraged to meet the challenges of the future and we were reminded that sharing His Life with others needs to be at the cutting edge of the work. The view of the ministry was honest and open with a realism that spoke to the heart. Presentations from a variety of ministries, locations and individuals were moving and informative and glorified the Lord.

There are open doors to go through and new opportunities to take up. In light of the theme of the week—“Resolved to Follow”, we know that His leading is essential, His presence imperative and our trust in and obedience to Him vital.

We look forward to the next Staff Conference but don’t let it come too quickly!
