The seasons change, and in the Lords leading, my time at Capernwray is now coming to a close. A new season begins for me in August, when I get married to Stuart Barnard, from Alberta, Canada, and then move over there in September. We met here a few years ago when Stuart worked on Staff as a Resident Assistant with the Bible School.
Ive been working in Capernwray Bookshop for just over five-and-a-half years now. Although my father had been working in the Bookshop for years previously, I had never imagined that I would work there myself; that is until I heard Gods specific calling in October 1999, after my Dad developed cancer. On the evening before he was diagnosed, when we still had no idea he was ill, he had asked me to pray and think about running the Bookshop someday in his place. I had been quite surprised and unsure, as I had wondered whether God had other things for me. It was not a surprise to the Lord however, and though the events which followed that evening had been unforeseen to me, God made it clear that I was to work in the Bookshop in my Dads place. He unveiled a path before my feet which was unknown to me, but one which Jesus had already walked.
As I think back, these past years spent at Capernwray have truly been the most significant and special of my life. As I go onward now, Stuart and I are excited to be led into new adventures ahead of us and go once more into what is perhaps unknown to us, but fully known to Him! I will certainly miss the ministry, community and friends here at Capernwray, who have become so dear, and am ever thankful that the Lord wrote these special years at Capernwray into our lives. He is faithful beyond imagining!
Pray with us for Jenni and Stuart as they begin their new life together.
