Its still very good but a way to go yet! Our enthusiasm for the new building here at Capernwray Hall remains undiminished, though there is still much to be done and the challenge is no less rewarding. We again express our gratitude to all who have contributed and to those who continue to do so for this important step in the development of the work here. We have been encouraged and are privileged participants in Gods grace and faithfulness.
Lets bring you up to date
As you know ground-breaking took place in September 2001 and by summer of 2002 we had the shell completed. A retaining wall was built and some other external aspects were worked on in 2003, although the inside was relatively untouched during the year. Much thought and consultation still had to be put into the next phase. Tenders were received from five companies for the mechanics that related to the heating, electrical systems and services.
The cost factor involved made us think again! Clearly our first estimates were too low. Even at this stage we have decided to face the relatively new options available for heating systems using renewable energy sources. It means a longer-term consideration both for the new building and potentially for the main Hall itself. As you know, we targeted spring of this year for a grand opening but quite frankly we will not make it.
The pictures below show the progress we are making in the upstairs accommodation on the second level, which will soon be prepared for the wiring and services to be installed. Revised plans for the kitchen and dining room services mean we have made adaptations to the lay out and anticipate ordering the mechanical equipment for underfloor heating, all energy services and ducting within the next few weeks. Obviously this has to be in before the kitchen equipment can be installed and the dining room reaches the finishing stage.

That may all sound a bit technical but we trust it will help give you an idea of how far we have come and how far we have yet to go. Again we recognise that so many have so graciously become involved with the project and that we are accountable to the Lord and also to you.
