Here is the winner of our competition set out in the 2003 Winter Newsletter. Thank you to all of you who sent entries in. I think you will all agree that Sarah is really looking forward to getting back to Capernwray this coming summer. Perhaps her words will help to get some of you excited too.

Poem for the competition by Sarah Graham

Capernwray is brilliant
Capernwray is cool
I like to go there every year
when I’ve finished school
I like riding on my bike
and swimming in the pool
I like playing tennis in the tennis court
I think its really cool

My favourite thing was playing with Katie
We had so much fun together
We ran about and rode our bikes
and we really liked each other
I learnt that God sent his only son
to die upon the cross
He died that day and rose again
And I remember on God’s special day
