Sports
There's plenty of opportunity at Capernwray to exercise physically as well as learning.
The Swimming Pool and sauna are popular with students and guests. You can enjoy basketball, volleyball, and football either outdoors or in our Sports Hall which is also equipped with a Climbing Wall. We also have table tennis, tennis, archery, croquet, putting and many many more activities.
Beehive (snack bar)
A great place to chill out and enjoy some time with your new friends.
There's a wide range of hot and cold drinks, ice cream, chocolate and sweets and we also stock some of those basic items you may have forgotten to bring! (toothbrush, washing powder etc)
Bookshop
Loads of books, T-shirts, hoodies, CDs, stationery, stamps, phone cards. You can buy many of these items through our new Capernwray online store.
Accommodation details
Sharing a room gives a great opportunity to get to know other students and their culture. Most will be in a room with 3 or 4 others, although some rooms are larger. There are a limited number of small rooms; for further details check out the brochure.
Trips
Several sightseeing trips and outings are offered during the year. You can go walking in the Lake District, enjoy the Roman cities of Chester or York, see live Premiership football, visit Liverpool, home of the Beatles! There is also a travel weekend and a Christmas break, which provide opportunity to travel more widely. These trips are optional and therefore allowance needs to be made in your budgeting for the school.
Various optional social activities are arranged during the school, and students can choose to get involved in organising these.
