What Students say

I arrived at Capernwray as a prodigal and I can honestly say, and have said to countless people, that were it not for the foundation that I received during my time at the Hall I would have given up again long ago. God had my attention at Capernwray and Jesus daily reached out to me through the incredible community we had there. I learned the true meaning of friendship, of what it means to have a brother and sister in Christ, and developed a love for the Scriptures during my time at the Hall. Years later, after having graduated from a four year Bible college and beginning seminary, the teaching I received at Capernwray remains as the primary lens through which I view faith and ministry. Could there be any greater news than Christ in you? That message was planted deep within me at Capernwray and has been venturing towards my heart ever since; for that I am eternally grateful. May all of us Capernwray grads continue to carry the torch of that message to the ends of the earth!
Mark Bradshaw, Summer Staff Counsellor and Conference Centre Host

"I think one of the most significant things I discovered at Capernwray is the importance of having a ‘real’ relationship with God. It sounds simple saying this, but so often for me the head knowledge never makes it down into heart knowledge and therefore action. I’ve found that once we start to get this relationship right then everything else begins to fall into place.
I feel that Capernwray will serve as a springboard for the rest of my studies and Christian walk. It was a real privilege to be in a position to take the time and get to know God better."
Nevin Urey - former student now working with Wycliffe

Going to Capernwray has made such a difference in my life, I think the last 9 months have been the best thing I've ever done and I've learned so much about so many things, not just the bible and I've grown so much as a person.
When I went to Capernwray I was a pretty quiet and shy person, but being there has given me so much more confidence, but the amazing thing is its confidence in God and having confidence in God really helped me with the way I feel about myself cos I know in all I do God needs to be the centre and He's the one who gives me strength so I don't need to worry about anything.
Emily Holt - at university in Scotland

"As someone relatively new to the Christian faith, coming to Bible School at Capernwray was exactly what I needed. I wasn't raised in a Christian home and after I invited the Lord Jesus into my life, I was desperate to learn more about the Bible and how it was relevant to my life in the 21st Century. I know that the practical teaching I have received at Capernwray has helped me to better recognise God's purpose for my life and let's face it, we all need to have a purpose to our lives!
Russell Gant - former local government officer, now working with a church in the south of England
